Recently 20 scientists, firm believers in CAGW and proponents of policies to reduce it, sent a letter to the White House supporting a call by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) for criminal prosecution under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) act of scientists who disagree with them. Hello?! Anybody ever heard of the First Amendment---you know, that stuff about freedom of speech and of the press? Or, for those who don't like America's Constitution and Bill of Rights, … [Read more...]

Seal Hunting and Definitions of Cruelty
The animal-use protest industry group, Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), took another Hollywood victim when it converted the sexy Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting of Big Bang Theory fame to its cause. Sweeting joins the emotive crowd of urbanites who oppose Canadian seal hunts. Now our big neighbor to the North has a long-history of first class wildlife management. In fact, Canada’s management of its natural resources (which includes wildlife) could be considered better than the management … [Read more...]
Having Fun at the “Moral Action on Climate Justice” Rally on the National Mall
The Earth Day Network hosted what it touted as a major rally for action to stop "climate change" today (timed to coincide with Pope Francis's visit with President Obama yesterday and his address to Congress) on the National Mall in Washington. Only it wasn't. It was reported that organizers said beforehand they expected "up to 200,000 people" to attend. Well, I guess what they said was true. The number didn't exceed 200,000. By my guess, it didn't exceed 5,000 or 6,000, but I'm not expert at … [Read more...]
New Petition and Videos Unmask Dangers of Climate Alarmism
For Immediate Release Burke, VA, September 22, 2015—As Pope Francis comes to the United States this week to speak to Congress and the American people about man-made climate change, a political agenda that pushes policies that directly hurt the poor and are contrary to the best science, the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation announces the release of its new petition, Forget 'Climate Change', Energy Empowers the Poor, and a new supporting YouTube video series, Greener on the Other … [Read more...]
A Nation of Plenty: Food Insecurity vs. Hunger
The United States is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet some of its citizens still go hungry, some are homeless, some fall through the cracks. Many people who are not suffering are still counted among the 48 million the U.S Department of Agriculture claims are “food insecure.” How is that possible? Simply stated, it’s not. Capitalism has created immense prosperity within the U.S., and most people have sufficient food. What’s more, as CO2 increases, global greening occurs … [Read more...]

Petition: Forget ‘Climate Change’, Energy Empowers the Poor!
The computer climate models that are the only reason for fears of dangerous, manmade global warming have proven wrong. They predict warming at twice the rate actually observed since the 1970s, and they failed to predict the complete absence of warming since January 1997. There remains, therefore, no good reason for the fears. It follows that policies to fight global warming fight a non-problem. They waste trillions of dollars needed instead to help the world’s poor meet much more urgent needs. … [Read more...]

An Open Letter on Climate Change to the People, their Local Representatives, the State Legislatures and Governors, the Congress, and the President of the United States of America
Human-induced climate change, also known as anthropogenic global warming (AGW), is real. Crucial questions facing the public and policymakers are its magnitude, its benefits and harms relative to the benefits and harms of the activities that drive it, and the benefits and harms of proposed responses to it. As the American people and their political representatives formulate policy regarding AGW, they should consider the following: Human Exceptionalism and Humanity’s Role in the Earth Severe … [Read more...]
Obama in Alaska: He Didn’t Let Kivalina’s Crisis Go to Waste
The Arctic, like the rest of the world, experiences natural cycles, and some of them can be pretty radical. While most of the world enjoys a pretty stable 24-hour cycle of sunrise and sunset, with the sun visible roughly half of each day, a little longer in summer, a little shorter in winter, the Arctic (like the Antarctic) goes from 24-hour sunlight in mid-summer to 24-hour darkness in mid-winter. Long-term geologic records indicate that it also experiences larger swings from warmer to colder … [Read more...]
