Help Us Walk Faithfully with You, God

by E. Calvin Beisner

Matthew 10:34–39: Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is … [Read more...]

We Pray That We Will Not be Captive to Fear

by E. Calvin Beisner

Psalm 46:1–5: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. Loving Savior in Heaven, we live in a … [Read more...]

We Pray the Good News of Jesus Would Spread Throughout the World

by E. Calvin Beisner

Colossians 1:11–20: May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in … [Read more...]

A Prayer for the Alleviation of Poverty in Africa

by Vijay Jayaraj

Dear Father in Heaven, We pray for the countries in Africa that are going through decades of poverty. We pray for those who don’t have access to clean water, nutritious food and basic educational institutions. Let there be peace in parts that are experiencing civil and militant wars. Provide us wisdom and discernment regarding disease control measures, so that millions of those without basic healthcare can be saved from diseases. We also pray for those on the ground in Africa, and … [Read more...]

A Prayer for India’s Energy Security

by Vijay Jayaraj

Dear Father in Heaven, We pray for the country of India and its future. Help Us We Pray

by Bruce Atchison

Heavenly Father, please help the people of planet Earth to realize that carbon dioxide is plant food, not a poisonous gas. May there be a massive outbreak of common sense so that the majority of ordinary people will object to the suicide pact which environmentalists want everybody to join in. Amen. This prayer was submitted for use by Bruce Atchinson in Cornwall Alliance's 2016 Day of Prayer for the Environment and the Poor. … [Read more...]

Did You Want Electricity with Your Fried Eagle?

by E. Calvin Beisner

Let's see now. The controversial Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, financed with $1.5 billion in federal loans, using sunlight reflected from 170,000 mirrors to heat boilers atop 450-foot-high towers, received on average $200 per megawatt-hour during summer months and $135 for the rest of the year but is likely to go bust. Meanwhile, PG&E pays $57 per megawatt-hour for power generated by more conventional solar plants, and $35 per megawatt-hour for power generated by natural gas … [Read more...]

What Made February So Hot?

by E. Calvin Beisner

Anthony Watts reports, "One graph proves that record high year of 2015 and record months of 2016 are not AGW driven." The graph? This one, by Ryan Maue of WeatherBell: Then there's another, from NOAA/NESDIS: Watts writes: "For all those people that want to claim 2015/2016 “proves” that human caused global warming is at work (while at the same time ignoring a record El Niño event as seen above), this graph indisputably proves that the El Niño is the driver of record high … [Read more...]

Is Sea Level Rise Accelerating? A Look at the Evidence

by E. Calvin Beisner

The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assessment report claims that the rate of sea level rise from 1993 to 2010 was roughly twice that from 1901 to 2010, offering one of the strongest reasons for alarm about anthropogenic global warming. But a major review by Kenneth Richard of recent journal publications on the subject finds little to no basis for the claim. Says Richard: According to the IPCC (2013), sea levels rose at a rate of 1.7 mm/year (6.7 inches per century) for the … [Read more...]
