For Immediate Release
Burke, VA, October 13, 2015—The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation will premiere its new documentary film, Where the Grass is Greener: Biblical Stewardship vs. Climate Alarmism, at the Heritage Foundation in Washington D.C. on October 21, 2015, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
This blockbuster one-hour documentary harnesses the expertise of over 30 world-class scholars on climate science; developmental, environmental, and energy economics; and theology, ethics, and public policy to address global warming and climate policy from the Biblical worldview perspective to protect the world’s poor from harmful climate and energy policies.
“Those who think ‘the science is settled,’ ‘there is no debate,’ and ’97% of scientists agree’ that global warming is real, people cause most of it, it’s dangerous, and we should spend trillions of dollars fighting it are in for a big surprise,” said Cornwall Alliance Founder and National Spokesman Dr. E. Calvin Beisner. “This film not only shows that outstanding scientists think otherwise, but also that the best scientific evidence says global warming is cyclical and largely natural, that human contribution is slight and not dangerous, and that spending trillions to fight it will do far more harm than good, especially to the world’s poor.”
Experts appearing in Where the Grass is Greener include physicists Dr. Will Happer and Dr. S. Fred Singer, climate scientists Dr. Roy W. Spencer and Dr. David R. Legates, engineers Dr. James H. Rust and Dr. Hal Doiron, theologians Dr. Jay Richards and Dr. James Tonkowich, public policy experts Elizabeth Yore and Marc Morano, and economists Dr. David Kreutzer and Dr. G. Cornelis van Kooten—and many more.
“We really have gathered some of the very top minds in the field here,” Beisner said. “They show that real science, which is rooted in the Biblical worldview, demands free inquiry, that appeals to consensus are political not scientific, and that fossil fuels can and should be used, safely and cleanly, to lift the remaining 3 to 4 billion of the world’s poor out of poverty and to sustain the wellbeing of everyone else.”
Following the premiere, a panel discussion will be held featuring Jay Richards, Ph.D., Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute; David Kreutzer, Ph.D., Senior Research Fellow for Energy, Economics, and Climate Change at The Heritage Foundation; Rev. Charles A. Clough, M.S., Th.M., President of Biblical Framework Ministries, an ordained minister and a meteorologist, formerly the Atmospheric Effect Team Chief for the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center; and E. Calvin Beisner, Ph.D., Founder and National Spokesman of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation. The event will be hosted by Becky Norton Dunlop, Vice President of External Relations for The Heritage Foundation.
Attendance is open to the public and free of charge. Please RSVP to Megan@cornwallalliance.org.
