Don’t ever let anyone tell you that redistribution of wealth isn’t a major part of the agenda for the global warming alarmist crowd.
Here’s a graphic prepared by ALBA, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America, which Wikipedia describes as “an intergovernmental organization based on the idea of the social, political and economic integration of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. … Founded initially by Cuba and Venezuela in 2004, it is associated with socialist and social democratic governments wishing to consolidate regional economic integration based on a vision of social welfare, bartering and mutual economic aid.”
Add ’em up. Those figures come to a transfer of $1.053 Trillion from the West to the 16 recipient countries listed.
No wonder Ottmar Edenhofer, a co-chair of the IPCC, said back in 2010, “The climate summit in Cancun at the end of the month is not a climate conference, but one of the largest economic conferences since the Second World War. … First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.”
Bruce Atchison says
How true it is that money answers everything. Unfortunately for millions of deluded souls, socialism makes them think wealth is limited. If it was based on gold alone, then it would be. But wealth is a renewable resource and capitalism is its best distributor. Even the Chinese communist government realized the power of the free market. What poor countries need is the Christian form of capitalism we used to lift our people out of poverty.
James Hassinger says
“Every major decision a man makes will be faulty until he gains a proper perspective of the whole world as God sees it.” (attribution unknown)
The socialist economic and political solutions work only in the eyes of socialist leaders. Their solutions fail to deliver hope for the common man. Top socialist leaders rue this dichotomy, but rule out consideration of socialism as its cause.
The USA is blessed with abundant natural resources and the wealth it brings. But if socialism were the economic and political structure, this nation would quickly join third world nations in lifestyle.
Now socialist leaders blame their nations failing economic systems on the changing world climate, a constant phenomena that cannot be denied. Even though the cause-effect connection cannot be witnessed, they continue their ludicrous assertions.
Only fools would believe such deceptions. Yet fools rule this world.
