The Dawn of Climate Realism: Coal Surges Amid Climate Rhetoric

by Vijay Jayaraj

Many countries have been at the crisscross of warfare between anti-coal establishments and the traditional coal industry. Despite the elite-empowered and politically motivated worldwide campaign to phase out coal, demand for coal is on the rise! Coal has been “enemy No. 1” for the climate establishment. In fact, it would seem that the entire global warming movement is hinged upon the singular aim to eliminate coal from use. Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW) is a notion that … [Read more...]

Earth to Climatistas: I’m Not Cooperating!

by E. Calvin Beisner

The climate alarmists claim that global warming will lead to more frequent and more severe hurricanes. Nature doesn't seem to be cooperating. As University of Alabama climatologist and Cornwall Alliance Senior Fellow Dr. Roy W. Spencer points out: In less than two months (October 6, 2016) it will be 4,000 days since the last time a major hurricane made landfall in the U.S., which was Wilma on October 24, 2005. Wilma was a record-setter, being the strongest Atlantic hurricane on record, … [Read more...]

I Love My Job, and Sometimes It’s Really, Really Fun!

by E. Calvin Beisner

Back in June I had the tremendous privilege of interviewing 32 scholars and leaders on camera for Cornwall Alliance's forthcoming documentary, Where the Grass is Greener: Biblical Stewardship vs. Climate Alarmism, and our already posting YouTube video series Greener on the Other Side: Climate Alarmism---Facts, Not Fear (subscribe to our YouTube channel and you'll be notified of new videos when they post). Many of these are giants in their fields. All are brilliant people and dedicated to the … [Read more...]

Curry Deals Another Blow to Climate Consensus

by E. Calvin Beisner

Georgia Tech climatologist Judith Curry dealt a serious blow to the appeal to consensus on climate change in her paper "Climate Change: No Consensus on Consensus," three years ago. She pointed out (among lots of other valuable things) that, whatever value consensus might have in science (as opposed to politics), consensus is significant only if it arises spontaneously, but the alleged consensus on climate change had been assiduously manufactured by the IPCC. She's followed the subject a good … [Read more...]

“The Pause” Survives NOAA’s Assault

by E. Calvin Beisner

Climate alarmists the world over heaved a sigh of relief a little over a month ago when a team of NOAA scientists led by Tom Karl published a piece in Science purporting to disprove "the pause" in global warming. The sigh was short lived, though, since quite a few able critiques of Karl et al. 2015 appeared quickly, a number of them linked in my earlier blog on the subject here. Now the Global Warming Policy Foundation has published, together in a single post, two new critiques, by David … [Read more...]

Climate Consensus? Nonsense!

by E. Calvin Beisner

So, someone privately messaged us saying her friend had posted this article, and she (who messaged us) wondered how we'd respond. Okay, we give up. We'll never persuade people like Slate.com's Phil Plait. Not if this article, and this and this typify his thought processes. His failure to dig a little deeper, as any good journalist should (which suggests how few good journalists there are out there!), indicates a mind closed to evidence. But for those of you who aren't closed to evidence, how … [Read more...]

Cornwall Alliance: “Playing Silly Games with Pseudo-Science”?

by E. Calvin Beisner

Is dangerous manmade global warming as certain as that Jesus of Nazareth existed? If you’re a well-informed person with a tolerable knowledge of the overwhelming historical evidence for Jesus’ existence and the enormous and complex controversies over global warming, your answer, after brief reflection, should be easy: No. And if you’re a thinking Christian who recognizes the Bible as the Word of God, your answer should be instant and without hesitation: Definitely no. Shockingly enough, … [Read more...]

Science Publisher Calls for Better Communication – But Not of Science

by E. Calvin Beisner

Originally published on WattsUpWithThat.com. Alan Leshner is worried. It seems scientists are having a hard time getting the public to understand science, and since “Public understanding of science … contributes to the extent of support for scientific research,” something must be done. Leshner, CEO of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and Executive Publisher of its flagship publication, Science, wrote in a recent editorial, “There is no shortage of topics where … [Read more...]

Global Warming: Why Evangelicals Should Not Be Alarmed

by E. Calvin Beisner

An annotated, PDF version of this article is available for Download. In a documentary aired August 23, 2007, by CNN and titled “God’s Warriors,” Richard Cizik, vice president for governmental affairs of the National Association of Evangelicals, said about evangelicals who disagree with his urgent appeals for action to fight global warming: Historically, evangelicals have reasoned like this: Scientists believe in evolution. Scientists are telling us climate change is real. Therefore, I won’t … [Read more...]

Important Developments on Global Warming in 2006

by Cornwall Alliance

Despite continued alarmist claims in the mainstream media, by advocacy groups, and by some scientists, actual scientific and economic developments related to the global warming debate during 2006 point toward the collapse of the catastrophic human-induced global warming (CHIGW) dogma. Here’s a brief summary. IPCC Reduces Warming Projections. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) draft 2007 Fourth Assessment Report (FAR) reduces projected temperature impact of human-induced … [Read more...]
