YouTube’s Climate Change ‘Re-Education Camp’

by Vijay Jayaraj

YouTube’s recent move to flag videos that do not align with the company’s beliefs is a shocker to many viewers. This is no small move. YouTube is setting a dangerous precedent for other social media platforms, which may soon espouse this anti-science attitude. Recently, YouTube decided to post a banner beneath videos that questioned the consensus on global warming. More precisely, it even flags videos that do not question the warming. All the video has to do is question the magnitude of … [Read more...]

Church and Climate Change — Love Thy Neighbor, With Truth

by Vijay Jayaraj

The Christian church worldwide has always sought to improve people's welfare. It has been the forerunner for justice and freedom. That is understandable, because Jesus demands that we love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31). How then, in light of the best scientific and historical knowledge, ought the church to respond to climate change? How do we love our neighbors when it comes to global warming? Loving our neighbors doesn't stop with sending roses or being polite to them. We … [Read more...]

Climate Obsession: Blinding Us to Real Environmental Problems

by Vijay Jayaraj

Are there bigger environmental concerns than Climate Change? Certainly. But we don’t hear that from our daily news anchors and bulletins. Why are we obsessed with climate change? Not long ago, our interests were limited only to weather. But in recent decades, climate change has dominated our news columns. There is not a day without news on the coming climate doomsday. The reason for this is simple—climate change has been sold by the mainstream media as the most disastrous environmental … [Read more...]

Are There Benefits to Climate Change?

by Ken Milam

News reports and editorials about human-caused climate change are a daily feature of modern life, as politicians, environmental activists and industry leaders grapple over how to mitigate or avert the expected global catastrophe to ensue. Gregory R. Wrightstone takes a different view. “We see that many of the predicted climate calamities … are, in fact, not happening, and that conditions are improving in many cases,” he said. Wrightstone is an AAPG Member and author of the book, … [Read more...]

Climate Fake News: Now Spreading Like Wildfire

by Vijay Jayaraj

Fake news, and any interesting news, can spread like wildfire. Unfortunately, recent wildfires in Greece generated more fake news. It has now become popular to blame every natural disaster on global warming. Here I try to explain why this attitude is wrong and can sometimes even impede our scientific progress. Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW) is a scientific theory that states that carbon dioxide emissions from human sources are causing global temperature to rise … [Read more...]

The Complex Climate Conundrum: Moving from Panic to Progress

by Vijay Jayaraj

The media buzz about climate doomsday can be quite overwhelming to any ordinary person who is not into sciences or academia. In recent decades, more and more people have been persuaded to believe that an imminent climate collapse is at hand. But do we know enough about climate change to justify such claims? How much sense can we make from what we do know? I’ve grappled with these questions for over a decade, starting with my graduate studies in climate science at the University of East … [Read more...]

Anti-Science Attitude and Media Lies: Your Blinded Climate Friend

by Vijay Jayaraj

Climate change is divisive. While most conservatives tend to be skeptical of the dangers of climate change, most liberals tend to exaggerate them. Within the scientific community too, a plethora of scientists believe the current change in climate is not unprecedented. Their opinion stands in stark contrast to opinions held by scientists who head the climate policy making bodies at the United Nations. Friends are no exception. Recently, a friend told me that climate change's impact is very … [Read more...]

Are Record Temperatures Evidence of Manmade Global Warming?

by William Balgord

It is a slam-dunk certainty that American mainstream media will seize upon a recent story in the Los Angeles Times, “Southern California sets all-time heat records amid broiling conditions,” as justification for its continuing support of the contested theory of man-caused global warming. It has already happened with a Yahoo News story claiming that the new temperature records world-wide prove man causes climate change. But there are problems in pursuing that path. First, days that reach … [Read more...]

The “Temperature Circle” Deception

by Roy W. Spencer

About a year ago, Finnish climate researcher Antti Lipponen posted a new way to visualize global warming, an animation he called the “temperature circle”. It displays the GISS land temperature data as colored bars for each country in the world radiating from a circle. As the temperature in a country goes up, the colored bar changes from a blue bar to a red bar, and gets longer…and wider:   I didn’t pay much attention to the ‘temperature circle’ at the time as it seemed rather … [Read more...]

Monsoons Unravelling the Climate-Change Myth, Again!

by Vijay Jayaraj

Dark clouds, gentle, cool breezes, and signs of life everywhere. The Monsoon has begun in India, giving much-needed respite from summer heat! Images of India in the mainstream media can be misleading. They generally show only our cities. They portray them as overcrowded and unhygienic. But most of India is farms and forests. Nearly half the labor force is in agriculture. It accounts for about 17 percent of India’s economic production. From June through September, Monsoon rains give … [Read more...]
