No More Secret Science, Needs No More Secret Economics

by Darren Brady Nelson

Controversial Administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Scott Pruitt, said in a press release on April 24th that: “The era of secret science at [the] EPA is coming to an end.” This is in the context of him signing a proposed rule to strengthen the science used in regulations issued by EPA. This is also in the context of Executive Order 13777 (issued in March 2017) which provides for regulatory reform of “those regulations that [do not] meet the standard of reproducibility.” The … [Read more...]

Ten religious reasons against climate change

by Mark Powell

Many in politics, as well as in the media, are unaware that there is a growing number of Christians who are opposed to the ‘catastrophism’ associated with global warming. They have formed what is called the Cornwall Alliance and produced an excellent statement outlining their position entitled: A Renewed Call to Truth, Prudence, and Protection of the Poor: An Evangelical Examination of the Theology, Science and Economics of Global Warming. Based upon the statement as well as the work by Wayne … [Read more...]

Summer Rains and Record Crop Output: No Room for Climate Lies

by Vijay Jayaraj

It’s raining. It’s been raining nonstop for five hours. Heavily. It’s done that for four straight days. Farmers all over southern India, where I live, are rejoicing. And the rainy season has not even begun! According to climate-change alarmists, none of this should be happening. They have predicted increasing drought for India from man-made global warming. They’ve also predicted declining harvests because of it. That has created panic. Farmers in southern India were already nervous … [Read more...]

Steering clear of climate alarm: climate change alarmists should chill on Earth Day 2018

by Anthony J. Sadar

Sunday, April 22 will mark the 48th anniversary of Earth Day. A lot of concern about the planet’s future was generated back then and a passionate movement was launched that endures to this day. But much has changed since 1970 when the Earth was in a substantial cooling trend. Today, of course, the angst is over a significant warming. The big concern is that, because of “carbon pollution,” the planet will heat up to catastrophic levels causing all sorts of problems like rising sea levels, … [Read more...]

Listen in: Vijay Jayaraj Tells the Truth About Climate Change

by Megan (Toombs) Kinard

Cornwall Alliance Researcher for Developing Countries Vijay Jayaraj was interviewed on the Wayne Allyn Root Show about the common climate change misconceptions propagated by the media. Misconception 1: Humans are causing catastrophic climate change. Reality: While humans may be causing some warming, it is so small as to be undetectable, and certainly will not be catastrophic. Misconception 2: CO2 is a pollutant. Reality: CO2 is plant food that helps plants grow. The higher the … [Read more...]

What’s Behind the Rhetoric of ‘Climate Change’ and the Demonizing of Skeptics?

by E. Calvin Beisner

Emily Holden is a well-trained rhetorician. In her Politico article “Climate change skeptics run the Trump administration,” she writes of President Trump and his appointees’ “disbelief in the scientific evidence for climate change,” which of course is spin in multiple ways. Holden depends from the start on the fact that skepticism of “climate change” is now widely considered anti-scientific. Yet as the philosopher of science Robert K. Merton wrote 80 years ago, “Most institutions demand … [Read more...]

Trump Departs from Mainstream Climate Alarmism in SOTU, Speaks on ‘Beautiful’ Coal

by Vijay Jayaraj

In his State of the Union address, American President Donald Trump steered clear of explicit reference to climate change, but to the dismay of climate doomsday propagandists, he declared coal “beautiful and clean.” What does this mean for America and the developing nations, whose fossil fuel-based energy infrastructures, and hence their economies, face the threat of a forced conversion to renewables in the name of combating global warming? Trump’s marked departure from mainstream climate … [Read more...]

The New Children’s Crusade?

by William Anderson

Last month environmental groups, with Our Children’s Trust, used children as plaintiffs in suing President Donald Trump for allegedly imperiling future generations by turning his back on President Barack Obama’s policies to fight climate change. It reminds me of when, in 1212, thousands of European children attempted to march to Palestine to liberate the Holy Land, expecting the Mediterranean Sea to part when they reached its shores. Unfortunately for them, it didn’t, and those who left Europe … [Read more...]

Can Anything Good Come from CO2?

by Neil L. Frank, Ph.D.

As much of America remains frigid, media headlines shout far and wide that catastrophic man-made climate change is to blame.  But is it true? What are the basic facts about climate that people need to know?  Four questions can aid in the understanding of this complicated topic. First, is the Earth warming? Second, if it is, what is causing the warming? Third, assuming that CO2 is causing the Earth to warm, what is the cost of mitigating its impact? And fourth, if CO2 has little or … [Read more...]

Is Climate Change Causing a Sea Turtle Disaster?

by David Shormann

Turtle Traffic Jams? On Oahu’s North Shore, Hawaiian green sea turtles are everywhere, but a recent study claims that may not be the case in the future due to climate change. But is it really true that disaster is looming for green sea turtle populations? Tourists flock here daily to see them, with cars and buses jockeying for limited parking along a tiny, two-lane coastal highway. The daily phenomena create what the locals un-affectionately refer to as “turtle traffic jams.” When I … [Read more...]
