Are Global Warmists Fudging Temperature Data?

by E. Calvin Beisner

COP21 in Paris ended with a legally unenforceable but politically dangerous agreement among about 180 countries to reduce their CO2 emissions or slow their growth. Here in the United States Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) stands by his claim that manmade global warming is our greatest security threat, while President Obama treats it as a greater threat than radical Islamic terrorism, a nuclear Iran, a thermonuclear North Korea, and restive Russia and China. The mainstream news media continue to … [Read more...]

It’s Okay to Laugh at COP21!

by E. Calvin Beisner

Honest, you can't make these things up! Here's a screen capture from WattsUpwithThat.com on November 30, first day of COP21, the UN climate summit in Paris. Here's what the blurry (because screen captured) text says: Laughable: COP21 and Comedy Central share a logo style Anthony Watts, 20 hours ago, November 30, 2015 From the truth is stranger than fiction department. I was sent a photo showing hte UN Logo being installed at the COP21 conference in Paris. Source: Inquirer.net where they say … [Read more...]

How NOAA Lies with Global Warming Statistics

by E. Calvin Beisner

A subscriber to Cornwall Alliance’s e-newsletter recently wrote asking us if we have replies to the various graphs at “Climate Change: Global Temperature,” on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Climate.gov web page. Oh my goodness the misrepresentations of facts in those graphs are awful! Preparing refutations/analyses of all the graphs there would be a very long and complex project for which I simply cannot take time. But let’s take this one—probably the most … [Read more...]

5 Questions That Expose the Errors of Climate Alarmism

by E. Calvin Beisner

Many people are asking us for questions they can raise at various public meetings—at churches, schools, universities, community organizations, etc.—to expose the errors of climate alarmism. Here are five: 1. Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman once said the “key to science” was realizing that if your theory about how the world works yielded predictions contradicted by observations, your theory was wrong. Since the only basis for fears of dangerous, manmade global warming … [Read more...]

Why ISIS Should Support COP21 in Paris…

by Roy W. Spencer

After the horrific terror attacks in Paris Friday night, there is considerable speculation over the possible cancellation of the COP21 climate talks in Paris in a couple of weeks. I will remind you that President Obama has stated that the threat of climate change is greater than the threat of terrorism. I will also remind you that many believe that ISIS would not have arisen if not for climate change, specifically, drought in Syria caused by your SUV. It is only logical that ISIS should be … [Read more...]

What Threatens Liberty and Increases Abortion, Human Trafficking, Government Debt, and Poverty?

by E. Calvin Beisner

Conservatives, Christian and non-Christian alike, share concerns about civil and religious liberty, abortion and the sanctity of human life, human trafficking and pornography and how they damage families, fiscal responsibility in government, and poverty. What many don’t know is that there are links between climate alarmism and every one of these issues. Let me take them in reverse order. First, climate alarmism undermines fiscal responsibility in government. Not only do governments … [Read more...]

Green Climate Fund Gets a Slow Start

by E. Calvin Beisner

The $100 billion slush fund---er, Green Climate Fund---created at the COP17 climate summit in Durban, South Africa, is supposed to redistribute money from wealthy developed countries to poor developing countries (or at least to the thugs who run them). Call it a kind of penalty for the developed countries' having overcome poverty before the developing ones, raising atmospheric CO2 concentration along the way, igniting sudden and catastrophic global warming (absent for the last 18 years and 8 … [Read more...]

India Dances toward Paris

by E. Calvin Beisner

India last week announced its "climate action plan" in preparation for December's climate summit in Paris, and the featured points grabbed the world's attention: 40% increase of "clean [i.e., CO2-free] energy" by 2030; reduced CO2 "emission intensity" by 33% from 2005 levels by 2030; calling for wealth countries of the West to help it meet the costs of these efforts. That last point is the one to be taken most seriously. As for the first two, well, there's lots of smoke and mirrors, but … [Read more...]

“The Pause” Survives NOAA’s Assault

by E. Calvin Beisner

Climate alarmists the world over heaved a sigh of relief a little over a month ago when a team of NOAA scientists led by Tom Karl published a piece in Science purporting to disprove "the pause" in global warming. The sigh was short lived, though, since quite a few able critiques of Karl et al. 2015 appeared quickly, a number of them linked in my earlier blog on the subject here. Now the Global Warming Policy Foundation has published, together in a single post, two new critiques, by David … [Read more...]
