Giving Tuesday is fast approaching, and I know we are all very busy between now and December 1st. Many of us have family coming into town, or we are traveling to family events, and there is still grocery shopping to do, and a Thanksgiving meal to prepare. To make life easier, we have prepared an #UNSelfie template for you to use to publicly announce your support of the Cornwall Alliance on Giving Tuesday.
Simply write in why you are supporting the Cornwall Alliance on December 1st, and take a picture with the sign, then post it to social media tagging the Cornwall Alliance on Facebook @Cornwall Alliance For the Stewardship of Creation, and on Twitter @CornwallSteward.
On December 1st, the Cornwall Alliance is participating in Giving Tuesday with three special giving campaigns:
Support an intern—Many young people struggle to find jobs without relevant work experience in their fields. Internships provide relevant experience, and hands-on-learning for participants. Every $500 raised towards this goal will provide a stipend for a semester or summer internship.
Support a Cornwall Student Blog Fellow—different from an internship, the fellow will focus on writing articles for Earth Rising Blog and receive valuable hands-on-learning in the fields of editing and publishing online articles. Every $750 raised will provide a stipend for a semester or summer fellowship.
Support continued advertisement of the Petition: “Forget ‘Climate Change’, Energy Empowers the Poor.”—Environmental regulations that destroy energy production, and hurt the economy, have the worst impact on people in poverty—people who can least afford it. Every $100 will help us reach out to people through social media and other avenues. Help us take a stand for those with no voice, and tell the world “Energy Empowers the Poor!”
