Did Cornwall Alliance’s Open Letter to Pope Francis on Climate Change cause the Pope and his advisors to think twice? Maybe, maybe not.
“The reason, according to [Vaticanist Sandro] Magister, is that the Pope realized that the document in its current state had no chance of receiving the approval of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith under the leadership of Cardinal Gerhard Müller.”
As I’ve said before, it appears that Pope Francis has in the past been fed information about global warming only by one side. Our Open Letter and presentations friends and I made in Rome April 27 and 28 present solid science and economics that challenge that perspective, and we have good reason to believe our letter and presentations came at least to Cardinal Müller’s attention. Let’s hope that Francis takes our challenge seriously. The encyclical’s delay is one hint that he might.

The report Jeremy links came out the day after Dr. Beisner’s comments. “Spewing misinformation” is a bit heavy for a faithful copying of news reports. By their words we shall know them…once they’ve been published.
