Our Heavenly Father,
We do recognize that in the world today, one of the primary reasons many people are destitute, is often because all too many people and their governments, worship or give too much deference to nature and the natural world that prevents them fulfilling their divinely ordained mandate to subdue and fill the earth as originally intended – emanating from the Garden of Eden as a model to follow. This same mandate was taken seriously by Joshua’s generation who subdued the promised land according to God’s promises and power that led to great blessing in Israel at different times during its history – particularly with the rise of David and Solomon.
We thank you for the gracious wisdom you gave to Israel that their spiritual and economic blessings were to be found by living freely under the rule of the Mosaic Law where private property was respected with regard to the created order – a pattern which has since led to many blessings throughout the world ever since the Church came into being to spread Your Word to all the nations through the glorious gospel of grace.
Lord we pray for open hearts of many people throughout the world to once again return to the foundational blessings of the gospel of grace that are to be found in Your Word, that God’s people would once again be bold in proclaiming that gospel, and that many would be receptive to it in order to encourage and lift them up from the many difficulties that beset us in a fallen world.
Lord we recognize the dominion mandate given in Genesis will not be ultimately fulfilled until your Return, but we continue to pray for grace and perseverance, particularly with regard to the poor as they struggle in very difficult environmental conditions that have been exacerbated by sin. We pray the light of the gospel may shine on them, and from there to transform lives by Your Word so that people may courageously live upright to be a testimony to others in these trying days – a testimony which also lead to fruitfulness of the natural world that will glorify You and Your plans for human life and history.
In Jesus name we do pray. Amen
