We pray according to Psalm 72:1-4 that our Gospel witness would bring God’s promised blessing to the nations.
Psalm 72:1-4
[1] Give the king your justice, O God,
and your righteousness to the royal son!
[2] May he judge your people with righteousness,
and your poor with justice!
[3] Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people,
and the hills, in righteousness!
[4] May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
and crush the oppressor!
Father, you have sent your Son to fulfill this royal psalm; we pray in Jesus’ name that as we go out with the testimony of His life, death, resurrection and ascension your merciful rule would protect the weak, bring justice for the oppressed, and feed the hungry. Lord, bless the nations through the gospel proclamation and transformation in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit so that people, leaders and nations are transformed to the praise of your glory.
