We Pray that God Would Pour Down His Guidance and Wisdom

by Mike Spaulding

March 25, 2015

Our Father in heaven:

What a blessed privilege it is to come before You in prayer.  What joy it brings to us to know the assurance of Your presence with us, Your benevolence toward us, and Your lovingkindness that is ours forever because of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Our hearts are bowed and our minds are submitted to You in every way. In humility we seek Your guidance. We must have Your wisdom.  We long for discernment born to us and in us by the Holy Spirit.

Father, please do Your work in us to refresh and revitalize us day by day.  The challenges before us are great but You are greater.  The tasks appear to be insurmountable but You have already overcome.  The systems of this world are increasingly aligned against us but You spoil the best made schemes.

Father we ask You to give us understanding in every arena You call us to operate in. The world’s wisdom has constructed a maze of difficulties and obstructions that seem to thwart every well-intentioned effort.  But Father, we trust You and Your plans for this world and therefore we are not dismayed.

Father there are many things that attempt to remain hidden but You are the great light that shines to all men and our prayer is that You would expose every act of evil, every ungodly thought, every vain thing raised up against You and against Your people.

Make us victorious in this day and age as we stand firm and resolved to be the stewards and care-takers of the world and those whom You have created.  As such we will endeavor to offer the people of this world a reason for the great hope within us.

We desire to bring peace where there is conflict. Help us Father to bring joy and renewal where there is distress and despair.  Give us boldness Father to never be ashamed nor frightened by those who oppose You and consequently us.

There is power and life in the name of Jesus Christ.  And it is in the name of Jesus that we pray these things.

Amen.
