Joe Bastardi’s The Climate Chronicles: Inconvenient Revelations You Won’t Hear from Al Gore—And Others is simply a delightfully fun book to read. It’s also well reasoned. Here’s an example of clarity and cogency:

… in the weaponization of weather, there are three factors that enable this tactic [of blaming all new weather extremes on anthropogenic global warming] to be used:

1. The people pushing this believe they are heroic revolutionaries. They have set themselves up as the underdog, creating a straw man that they must beat. It is because of the bigge agenda. If you want to see proof of this, a simple look at the frightening quotes of people driving all this is required.
2. There is a willing media pushing this on people who do not ahve the time or the inclination to actually look at the entire picture. It is lazy journalism at best and, like we are finding out in other aspects (Harvey Weinstein, for example), the media will bury anything that does not fit their missive.
3. The dispensing of information and the ability to see everything ad make it seem like it’s common (such as the reporting of weather events) is very powerful. A tornado in the middle of nowhwere can be captured easily on an iPhone. Storm chasers are getting to places they never would have been able to get to before. More people are living in harm’s way.

In the end, the old weather adage that anything can happen and probably will is the basis for the weaponization of the weather. They know extremes will occur, so they simply use them.
