50-Year U.S. Summer Temperature Trends: ALL 36 Climate Models Are Too Warm

by Roy W. Spencer

I’ll get right to the results, which are pretty straightforward. As seen in the accompanying plot, 50-year (1973-2022) summer (June/July/August) temperature trends for the contiguous 48 U.S. states from 36 CMIP-6 climate model experiments average nearly twice the warming rate as observed by the NOAA climate division dataset. The 36 models are those cataloged at the KNMI Climate Explorer website, using Tas (surface air temperature), one member per model, for the ssp245 radiative forcing scenario. … [Read more...]

COP-27: A Window Into How The UN Keeps The Poor Poor

by Francis Menton

Even as we give thanks this season for the wonderful benefits of a freedom-based political and economic system, the UN’s big annual “climate” conference, this year going by the moniker COP-27, has only recently wound up. As with most everything the UN does, there was nothing in this conference for anyone to be thankful for. This year, with the activists’ beloved wind and solar energy sources manifestly failing to solve Europe’s energy crisis, there was little prospect for any major new agreements … [Read more...]

De-Urbanization of Surface Temperatures with the Landsat-Based “Built-Up” Dataset

by Roy W. Spencer

A relatively new global dataset of urbanization changes over the 40-year period 1975-2014 based upon Landsat data is used to determine the average effect urbanization has had on surface temperatures. A method is presented to compute the magnitude of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect on temperatures using the example of summertime 09 UTC (early morning) Integrated Surface Database (ISD) hourly data (mostly from airports) over the period 1973-2022 by comparing urbanization differences to … [Read more...]

How the War on Nitrous Oxide Threatens Global Food Supply

by E. Calvin Beisner

An extremely dangerous trend in public policy is growing around the world: demanding reduced emissions, mainly from agriculture, of nitrous oxide (N2O) because it contributes to global warming. Indeed, we're told, every molecule of nitrous oxide in the atmosphere has 230 times the warming potential of every molecule of carbon dioxide---and governments all over the world concluded long ago, rightly or wrongly, that we must cut carbon dioxide emissions to reduce global warming. Clearly, then, it … [Read more...]

Get Ready for More Hype From Climate Fearmongers!

by E. Calvin Beisner

In case you hadn’t heard, radical environmentalists and their globalist, “Great Reset” allies, people I like to call “climate cops,” are holding their annual doom-fest. The 27th “Conference of the Parties,” or COP, of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change started November 6 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, and has drawn some 40,000 participants from pretty much every country in the world. It’s set to last two weeks.True to form, organizers are using it as another opportunity to demand global … [Read more...]

Not Green at All

by Viv Forbes

“Green” policies are destroying the natural environment and changing local weather. This is part of a futile UN scheme claiming to improve the climate of the world. All green energy degrades its environment.Take wind power.Wind turbines steal energy from the atmosphere and must affect local weather. Turbines are always placed on the highest ground and along ridges to catch more wind. Natural hills already affect local weather by causing more rain along the ridge, and a rain shadow further … [Read more...]

Latest RGGI Lawsuit Highlights Increases in Electricity Prices

by Cornwall Alliance

This is a guest article by Gordon TombImage: Creative Commons under UnsplashAlready struggling to cope with higher energy bills, Pennsylvanians are now experiencing double-digit rate hikes this fall. In September, some suppliers increased electricity prices another 19 percent, citing inflation and energy costs. Pennsylvanians need relief, but Gov. Tom Wolf’s unilateral action will drive energy bills even higher. Worse yet, a new lawsuit highlights how Wolf’s plan—while claiming to help the … [Read more...]

The World is Transitioning to Fossil Fuels

by Vijay Jayaraj

Despite the fanfare surrounding wind and solar, the world’s dependency on fossil fuels is increasing. Last week, Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser said that the world is now “transitioning to coal.”Image: Creative Commons under UnsplashSaad al-Kaabi, Energy Minister of Qatar, says,“ Many countries particularly in Europe which had been strong advocates of green energy and carbon-free future have made a sudden and sharp U-turn. Today, coal burning is once again on the rise reaching its highest levels … [Read more...]

Eco-Extremists Are Leading the World Towards Despair, Poverty, and Starvation

by Cornwall Alliance

This article was written by Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. Utopian solutions for saving the planet are doomed to failure - and worse. We must wake up before it is too lateThis winter, millions of British citizens, including children, will be tipped, or dumped, into energy poverty severe enough to risk permanent damage to their health. Cold, damp houses provide the perfect breeding ground for mold that not only causes respiratory distress but renders houses essentially unlivable once established. One … [Read more...]

Thoughtlessness Leads to Tragedy for Man and Beast

by William Balgord

The adage “familiarity breeds contempt” applies to behavior around wild animals, whether in herds of bison or elk, or a roving bear, cougar, or gator.Wild animals larger than an average-sized dog should be given a safe, wide berth, as a matter of course. They are not part of a petting zoo.As the 2022 tourist season draws to its close, several untoward incidents, some involving reckless behavior around large animals, have been reported that, unfortunately for the humans involved, proved dangerous … [Read more...]
