Today, on our Day of Prayer for the Environment and the Poor, we have invited our supporters and friends to partner with us as we ask for God’s will to be done. Below are prayers submitted by members of our community.

“Lord, gracious God, creator of this most magnificent planet and the universe it resides in. We thank you for all the ways that your Earth and its gifts sustain us. Clean water, food grown from the earth, fresh air, and the resources that give us shelter. You have given us the blessed responsibility of caring for your Creation, to protect it for the good of all.

We ask for your forgiveness for the ways that we have placed our own personal comfort and convenience above caring for what you love. For the ways that this has led to harming the most vulnerable among us. Give us the wisdom, courage, and humility to find and implement ways to conserve this beautiful and amazing planet that you have entrusted to us while also strengthening the safety, health, and wellbeing of your most vulnerable.

Unite the Church to devote ourselves to this ministry, in your name, and in your honor, for your glory.

“Lord God, Creator of all, 

   As so much of this world You created seems to be in turmoil, we look to You for comfort and relief.  Give each of us the will, courage, and resources to do our small part in what seems so overwhelming, even as we recognize that You are in control and only You can truly resolve things.  

   We pray for Your creations – Your people in their desperation and needs, the world that You created to be so perfect and beautiful.  We pray that we, Your people, might reach out in wisdom and love as You guide and provide.
