In his 1968 book The Population Bomb Paul Ehrlich predicted mass famines in America and lots of other countries around the world before 1980, and that we would run out of lots of minerals by then, too. His predictions turned out false. He remains the idol of environmentalists worldwide.
In 2007 Al Gore predicted, ““The North Polar ice cap … could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years from now.” That would have been 2014. In 2011, he said, “the entire North Polarized [sic] cap will disappear in five years.” His predictions turned out false. He remains the idol of environmentalists worldwide.
In a recent interview, Dr. Richard Lindzen, one of the world’s foremost climate scientists, said of the current fears of dangerous manmade global warming: “When this whole construct collapses sometime in the future and the fight against global warming will be moved to the dumping ground of history, people will marvel at a remarkable story showing how it was possible to make the whole mankind hysterical without any proper arguments. And how vulnerable science may become when it is exposed to such hysteria.”
Now we’ll make our prediction: Lindzen’s prediction will prove true.
Time will tell.
Meanwhile, you can learn a good bit about the climate scare by reading the whole interview.
