Description
Everywhere you look now you see promotions for “clean energy.” Wind, solar, and biofuels—they’re all billed as “clean.” And the fossil fuels that lifted the developed world out of poverty and could make extreme poverty a thing of the past in the developing world are billed as “dirty.”
The reality? “Clean energy” isn’t really clean. Wind, solar, and biofuels require vastly more land than fossil fuels to generate the same amount of power. Wind and solar require vast amounts of toxic chemicals the mining, refining, and disposal of which harm the earth and its people. Biofuels require switching vast amounts of land from farming food for people to farming fuel for vehicles—while consuming vast amounts of fertilizers that can harm ecosystems.
Worse still, the mining and refining of the “rare earths” necessary for wind and solar to happen in countries with low to non-existent environmental protection regulations. And worst of all, it’s done by slave labor by Uighurs in China and children in the Congo.
Ron Stein and Todd Royal pull back the curtain hiding these and more scandalous facts about “clean energy” in their new book Clean Energy Exploitations: Helping Citizens Understand the Environmental and Humanity Abuses that Support “Clean” Energy.
