Climate Models vs Observations: 2019 Update

by Ross McKitrick Ph.D.

Back around 2014 many people, me included, were commenting on the discrepancy between climate models and observations. In a report for the Fraser Institute I showed the following graph:The HadCRUT4 series (black) was then dipping below the 95% lower bound of the model distribution. The IPCC itself in the 5th Assessment Report (2013) noted that out of 114 model runs, 111 had overstated observed warming since the late 1990s. That same year, Hans von Storch told Der Spiegel thatIf things continue … [Read more...]

Shutdown, Snowfall, and the Deep Freeze: Truth in a World of Climate Lies

by Vijay Jayaraj

In the midst of America’s recent government shutdown, a number of politicians like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Al Gore, and John Kerry made extraordinary claims about the coming climate doomsday. Citing a recent climate report from the United Nations, they all made calls to save the Earth from climate doomsday. Less than a week later, much of America’s upper Midwest and Chicago face the likelihood of all-time record lows, with life-threatening wind chills of minus 45 to minus 60 degrees … [Read more...]

Climate Reality Forces Doomsday Alarmists to Restructure Warming Narrative

by Vijay Jayaraj

Whichever news media you subscribe to, you cannot miss the news about climate change. While climate alarmists claim that we are perilously close to doomsday, reality says otherwise. Climate alarmists are desperate to redefine climate change after the severe winters of 2017–2018 and 2018–2019. Let’s look at three of their most appalling attempts to conceal their errors. Global Warming to Climate Change Not very long ago, the alarmists’ buzzword was “global warming.” The term … [Read more...]

Arctic Air Freezes United States: Global Cooling or Global Warming?

by Vijay Jayaraj

America’s Midwest is freezing. Mainstream media outlets had no option but to inform readers of the heavy snow and dangerous low temperatures. Scientific American called the current cooling “life-threatening.” CNN reported the “Coldest air in a generation.” Those headlines were not hype. Yesterday, nearly 40 percent of Americans woke up to wind chill warnings or advisories.  Over the next few days, 72 percent of the continental US population will experience below freezing … [Read more...]

When Warming is Snow: Climate Alarmists’ Unpleasant Year

by Vijay Jayaraj

Climate change is undeniably the most talked about environmental issue today. But amidst claims of extreme warming, Earth’s climatic system surprised everyone by displaying an unpredictable pattern in the recent decades. Contrary to the exaggerated claims of global warming, temperatures remained stable in the last two decades, so low that they produced record lows in 2018. Is man-made global warming a paradox, or is it an exaggerated and inaccurate diagnosis of our climatic … [Read more...]

FINALLY! Climate Propaganda May Be Reaching A Tipping Point

by Vijay Jayaraj

Has the climate propaganda reached a point where radical climatism is leading us into dangerous negligence? The severe winter in the northern hemisphere has been widely recorded. However, key climate information providers have altered data. The result — intended or not — has been to make the recent record lows of the winter appear normal. November 2017 marked the onset of a very cold winter across the Northern Hemisphere. Many parts of North America and Eurasia registered record lows, … [Read more...]

The Great Winter of 2017-2018 and the Hypocrisy of Climate Alarmists

by Vijay Jayaraj

As record lows gripped many parts of the U.S. and Canada, the global warming elitists scrambled to announce to the world that climate change was the driving force behind the freezing weather. Inevitably, their claims have exposed the hypocrisy of the global warming cult that has instilled fear among the public. Temperatures in many parts of the Atlantic U.S. went down drastically last week. Canada was not an exception, with record lows registered in many provinces since November last … [Read more...]

President’s Tweet Trumps Gore’s on Climate Change

by Vijay Jayaraj

In Florida over the holidays, President Trump tweeted, “In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!” Al Gore—the leading global warming propagandist—fearing a collapse of his warming hypothesis, tweeted that the recent record lows are due to global warming. That drew biting derision from real … [Read more...]

If Global Warming Were Real, It Would Mean Fewer Deaths

by BBC News

A seriously hot summer between now and 2017 could claim more than 6,000 lives, the Department of Health report warns. But it also stresses that milder winters mean deaths during this time of year - which far outstrip heat-related mortality - will continue to decline. The report is to help health services prepare for climate change effects. A panel of scientific experts commissioned by the Department of Health and Health Protection Agency (HPA) has looked at the way the UK has responded to … [Read more...]
