We Pray the Good News of Jesus Would Spread Throughout the World

by E. Calvin Beisner

Colossians 1:11–20: May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in … [Read more...]

Prayer for China

by Vijay Jayaraj

Dear Father in Heaven, Thank you for the grace and blessings that you have endowed upon the people in China. Help the people who are facing religious persecution for your name’s sake. We also pray that your divine presence shall guide the leadership in formulating future energy policies concerning coal and renewables in China. We pray for the health and well-being of the Chinese people, and for you to safeguard them from pollution levels that are extremely harmful. Amen. … [Read more...]

A Prayer for the Alleviation of Poverty in Africa

by Vijay Jayaraj

Dear Father in Heaven, We pray for the countries in Africa that are going through decades of poverty. We pray for those who don’t have access to clean water, nutritious food and basic educational institutions. Let there be peace in parts that are experiencing civil and militant wars. Provide us wisdom and discernment regarding disease control measures, so that millions of those without basic healthcare can be saved from diseases. We also pray for those on the ground in Africa, and … [Read more...]

A Prayer for India’s Energy Security

by Vijay Jayaraj

Dear Father in Heaven, We pray for the country of India and its future. Let your spirit guide those who are in positions to influence energy policies that are critical to the country’s economic growth. Let your grace be upon the leaders of the country and help them address the needs of the poor and afflicted. We pray for clarity in scientific policies and their impact on governance. Help the country come out of poverty. Give us the strength to speak and advocate on behalf of those who … [Read more...]

Help Us We Pray

by Bruce Atchison

Heavenly Father, please help the people of planet Earth to realize that carbon dioxide is plant food, not a poisonous gas. May there be a massive outbreak of common sense so that the majority of ordinary people will object to the suicide pact which environmentalists want everybody to join in. Amen. This prayer was submitted for use by Bruce Atchinson in Cornwall Alliance's 2016 Day of Prayer for the Environment and the Poor. … [Read more...]

St. Patrick’s Prayer for Fellow Christians

by Megan (Toombs) Kinard

The story of St. Patrick is one of great faith and forgiveness. He was a slave who returned to the land of his captors to tell them of the love of Christ. Surprisingly the Patron Saint of Ireland is not Irish, but British. This was St. Patrick's prayer for his fellow believers in Christ. May the Strength of God pilot us. May the Power of God preserve us. May the Wisdom of God instruct us. May the Hand of God protect us. May the Way of God direct us. May the Shield of God … [Read more...]

We Pray for the Alleviation of Poverty

by E. Calvin Beisner

Galatians 2:10: … they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. Lord, we Christians in America are so blessed with material abundance! Thank You! But let us not take that blessing for granted, or want to keep it only for ourselves. Open our eyes to the desperate need of the many poor around the world, especially those who are our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us to see, and to act on, opportunities to help them, whether directly through gifts, or indirectly … [Read more...]

We Pray for Grace to Endure Trials

by E. Calvin Beisner

Romans 8:18–23: … the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in … [Read more...]

Join us for the 2nd Annual Cornwall Day of Prayer for the Poor and the Environment

by Megan (Toombs) Kinard

March 25 is the birthday of Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Norman Borlaug, “Father of the Green Revolution” and “The Man Who Fed the World” by his work increasing crop yields around the world. Borlaug’s amazing achievements not only fed, and continue to feed, billions of people, but also improve all of the world’s environment. Why? Because they reduce the need to convert natural lands to farmlands by enabling farmers to grow more food on every acre. That makes him a hero not only of the poor … [Read more...]

Help Us Speak the Truth in Love We Pray

by E. Calvin Beisner

Philippians 2:1–4: So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Heavenly Father, throughout the ages Your people, the … [Read more...]
