Cornwall Alliance Contributing Writer Gregory Wrightstone, author of Inconvenient Facts, posted a great video to YouTube explaining how the bitter cold, failed harvests, and famines of the Little Ice Age contributed to the witchcraft scare that led to the gruesome executions of many women (and some men) wrongly thought to be witches.
Today, it’s not global cooling, which is a real problem when it happens, but global warming, which brings great benefits in terms of improved crop yields, that sparks a different kind of witch hunt. This time the victims are scientists—thousands of them—and others who dare to question the claim that human action is driving unprecedented and dangerous climate change. Climate alarmists demonize them as “deniers”—the connection to Holocaust denial being thoroughly intentional—and alleged to be the paid stooges of fossil fuel corporations.
It’s time to end the witch hunt. Let’s hope this time it doesn’t take another reversal of global temperature trend, bringing on a reprise of the Little Ice Age (or worse, a full glacial period), to do it.
