Epic Fail in America’s Heartland: Climate Models Greatly Overestimate Corn Belt Warming

by Roy W. Spencer

For the last decade, I’ve been providing long-range U.S. Corn Belt forecasts to a company that monitors and forecasts global grain production and market forces. My continuing theme has been, “don’t believe gloom and doom forecasts for the future of the U.S. Corn Belt.”The climate models relied upon by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are known to overestimate warming compared to observations. Depending upon the region (global? U.S.?), temperature metric … [Read more...]

Italy Returns to Nuclear Sanity. Shouldn’t We?

by Duggan Flanakin

The Italian parliament, demonstrating confidence in Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, this week formally backed her plan to reintroduce nuclear power plants into Italy’s energy mix, reversing the nation’s 1987 moratorium on nuclear power. Meanwhile, energy-starved Germany is feeling the pinch from shuttering all of its 17 nuclear power plants.Image: Creative Commons under UnsplashThe U.S. has closed 11 nuclear reactors since 2013, with another eight of the 94 remaining reactors scheduled … [Read more...]

Why Can’t Renewables Power Modern Economies? Physics

by H. Sterling Burnett

Image: Creative Commons under UnsplashTo understand why wind and solar power, even with battery backup, will not be sufficient in the near future to supply the electric power needs of any modern industrial economy, much less an economy the size of the United States, one must first understand how the electric power system works.Note: I’m not talking about costs. Although the media regularly reports demonstrably false claims that wind and solar power are cheaper than traditional power sources such … [Read more...]

Oaks: America Is Emulating Mao’s Cultural Revolution

by Duggan Flanakin

Image: Creative Commons under UnsplashAt the 15th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC), hosted by Heartland Institute, Utah State Treasurer Marlo Oaks revealed how globalist U.S and world leaders, government scientists and bureaucrats, and media are quickly implementing policies that reflect the “Cultural Revolution” horribly implemented by China’s Chairman Mao. According to Oaks, the globalist community, enamored by the total control the Chinese Communist Party exhibits over its … [Read more...]

California: Atmospheric River and Misguided Climate Fear

by Steve Goreham

For more than three weeks earlier this year, California was pummeled by a series of storms arriving one after another from the Pacific Ocean. Torrential rains, mudslides, power outages, and floods plague state residents from north of San Francisco down to Los Angeles, four hundred miles to the south. Scientists attribute this event to an “atmospheric river” condition in the Pacific Ocean. Many also claim that this phenomenon is due to human-caused climate change.According to the National Oceanic … [Read more...]

Climate Cartels Plan to Cancel Single-Family Homes, Private Cars

by Larry Bell

Allysia Finley, a regular Wall Street Journal contributor, posted an article a couple of weeks ago titled "The Climate Crusaders Are Coming for Electric Cars Too," a prophesy consistent with a concerning social control trend I have witnessed as well.Image: Creative Commons under UnsplashIt's not that "green" lobbies have the necessary public support to succeed in consigning most of us to trade freedoms we take for granted for their enchanted "progressive" visions of ant farm utopia — … [Read more...]

Should We Trust the UN’s “Climate Science”?

by Cornwall Alliance

This is a guest article by Donna Laframboise.Last summer the National Association of Evangelicals, an organization largely in America but with some representation in my country, Canada, published a report that urges Christians to care deeply about climate change. Titled Loving the Least of These, it relies on the work of a United Nations (UN) entity to make its case.Having written two books about that entity—the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)—I was sorry to … [Read more...]

FERC’s Role in the Offshore Wind Stampede

by David Wojick

I am looking at a fat study titled “The Benefit and Urgency of Planned Offshore Transmission: Reducing the Costs of and Barriers to Achieving U.S. Clean Energy Goals." The term FERC occurs a whopping 92 times. Not surprisingly the 103-page report is mistitled. It is actually about the onshore transmission of offshore wind power, not offshore transmission. The urgency is that the present power system cannot handle all that offshore juice coming ashore. FERC is in the crosshairs because they are … [Read more...]

Get Ready for More Hype From Climate Fearmongers!

by E. Calvin Beisner

In case you hadn’t heard, radical environmentalists and their globalist, “Great Reset” allies, people I like to call “climate cops,” are holding their annual doom-fest. The 27th “Conference of the Parties,” or COP, of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change started November 6 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, and has drawn some 40,000 participants from pretty much every country in the world. It’s set to last two weeks.True to form, organizers are using it as another opportunity to demand global … [Read more...]

Why Are Farmers Defying Bans to Cultivate GM Crops?

by Vijay Jayaraj

Farmers across the world are desperate to grow genetically modified crops (GM) in their fields. So much so that in some countries farmers have bypassed existing bans on these crops and even made harvests from them.Image: Creative Commons under UnsplashWhy do these farmers risk being prosecuted, and what compels them to grow GM food crops? The answer is straightforward: GM crops give higher yields, are resilient to deadly plant diseases, and can withstand tough environmental conditions.Optimum … [Read more...]
