Cornwall Day of Prayer: A Prayer for Energy Liberation and Development

by Vijay Jayaraj

March 25, 2019

Dear Father in Heaven,

We come to you in prayer and ask you to liberate the nations of this world from poverty.

We specifically pray for the strengthening of our existing energy infrastructure and opportunities to utilize new resources like natural gas. We pray that you will guide the nations of the world and its leaders to harness the wealth of natural resources that you have created for the well-being of us and our future generations.

Lord, help us develop clean technologies—like the already operational clean coal technology—that will reduce pollution and maximize our potential to produce energy. Lord, help us secure our energy generation stations in a way that reduces the risks posed by them to communities who live near them.

We pray for your divine wisdom to be given to those within your church body who are opposed to developmental projects. We pray that you make them realize the urgency of implementing projects that will potentially save thousands from death every day.

For those who have understood this and who have been kept in strategic positions, help them to hasten their efforts towards development.

Lord, provide us with the wisdom to make use of our ingenuity—like how you have been enabling us in the past two centuries—to bring about revolutions in the sphere of science and technology.

Lord, we thank you for the amazing technological growth in the 19th and 20th century, which enabled us to reduce poverty globally. Lord, thank you for advances in medical technology and transportation facilities that has made our world a better place to live in.

Lord, above all, we pray that your name be glorified through every endeavour of your children and help us love our neighbors, not just with our words but also with our deeds: deeds that will address the alleviation of poverty and help those who are in immediate need.

We pray to you Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen!!!! Great prayer I hope is seen by many. Too few recognize abundant, cheap, reliable, and abundant energy is what has lifted society to the level of pleasant living we see in the United States today. The areas of the world with poverty and misery haven’t developed their energy resources.

Wisdom is necessary for a substantial number of citizens in the United States. The proposed “Green New Deal” would send the nation backwards away from cheap, abundant, and reliable energy to expensive, unreliable, and vast land area requiring solar and wind energy which impoverishes the majority of our citizens.
