The United Nations Climate Conference begins November 30 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). More than 70,000 delegates are expected to attend from almost 200 nations. The COP28 event will emit large amounts of carbon dioxide but is unlikely to have any measurable effect on global temperatures. COP28 is the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties, an annual event that has been going on since 1995. The Conference of the Parties is the decision-making body of the Framework … [Read more...]

Following Truth in a Warming World: Correcting One Evangelical’s Errant Views on Climate Change
Kyle Meyaard-Schaap is passionate. If all Christians were as committed to seeking God’s purpose for this earth, the United States would not be in the mess it is. But this does not mean I endorse Meyaard-Schaap’s conclusion, in his book Following Jesus in a Warming World: A Christian Call to Climate Action (InterVarsity Press, 2023), that Christians should view manmade climate change as a crisis that demands spending trillions of dollars fighting it. Meyaard-Schaap … [Read more...]
Merchants of Misinformation: The Church’s Challenge in An Age of Climate Falsehood
For centuries, the church has influenced our world in a positive way. Christians have been at the forefront of scientific discoveries and are well-known for their charities worldwide. In fact, the very hospital that I access in India was built by faithful Christians from a faraway land and my wife was educated at a school built by Christians. Not surprisingly, and as it often happens in history, the church is now in the midst of culture-driven confusion. A confusion about meaning, … [Read more...]
Climate Change Papers You Should Read
This is an annotated anthology of published, refereed papers that, in my view, are fundamental to an understanding of the science of climate change. Millions of papers are published each year, and thus it is difficult to reduce the myriad of articles to just forty-four fundamental papers. Moreover, this annotated anthology is compiled from a climate change realist perspective, rather than an alarmist one. Its purpose is to present a list of the cadre of articles that convey the current … [Read more...]
Using the Climate Change Scare to Promote Abortion
A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to speak to Campaign Life Coalition Ottawa about climate change and the potential threat that climate alarmism poses to the objectives of pro-lifers. The title of the event is “Why global warming alarmism is a threat to unborn children… and the pro-life movement.” In preparation for the event, I researched whether climate activist groups had anything to say about abortion and were surprised to see they do indeed. While their position is usually cloaked in … [Read more...]
Jamie Dimon’s Climate Corporatism
Deep Throat never said, “follow the money.” That phrase, which has become one of the most famous axioms in politics and journalism, was featured in the 1976 movie “All the President’s Men,” which starred Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford. But that phrase was not in the 1974 book of the same title by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward that recounted their investigation into the Watergate debacle 1 Instead, it appears the phrase was first used by an attorney named Henry … [Read more...]
Legalized Climate Grifting
Grifters have long fascinated us. Operating outside accepted moral standards, they excel at persuading their “marks” to hand valuables over willingly. If they ever represented a “distinctly American ethos,” they’ve been supplanted by con artists seeking bank accounts for funds abandoned by Nigerian princes. Their artful dodging is epitomized by Frank Abagnale daring the FBI to “catch me if you can,” Anna Delvey inventing Anna Sorokin, Redford and Newman masterminding their famous Sting, and … [Read more...]
Legates Speaks At Delaware Electric Car Mandate Town Hall Meeting
On March 21, 2023, Professor Legates gave a presentation on climate change to the Delaware Electric Car Mandate Town Hall Meeting at the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The meeting was sponsored by the Delaware GOP. Attendance was about 350 people and was standing room only. Delaware is planning to adopt the California standards for air quality by phasing in electric cars by 2035. However, a bill currently in the legislature will require a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions … [Read more...]
Should We Trust the UN’s “Climate Science”?
This is a guest article by Donna Laframboise. Last summer the National Association of Evangelicals, an organization largely in America but with some representation in my country, Canada, published a report that urges Christians to care deeply about climate change. Titled Loving the Least of These, it relies on the work of a United Nations (UN) entity to make its case. Having written two books about that entity—the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)—I was sorry … [Read more...]
Gore Climate Rants Return
Hyperventilating again last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, former Vice President Al Gore claimed that climate conditions are even direr than previously imagined, with manmade greenhouse gases responsible for the worst climate disasters the world has seen in recent years. Photograph: Fabrice Coffrini/AFP/Getty Images Nothing short of a nuclear holocaust, purveyor of planetary peril Gore said the current output of greenhouse gases is sending heat into the … [Read more...]
