Global Warming: Policy Hoax versus Dodgy Science

by Roy W. Spencer

By Dr. Roy Spencer In the early 1990s I was visiting the White House Science Advisor, Sir Prof. Dr. Robert Watson, who was pontificating on how we had successfully regulated Freon to solve the ozone depletion problem, and now the next goal was to regulate carbon dioxide, which at that time was believed to be the sole cause of global warming. I was a little amazed at this cart-before-the-horse approach. It really seemed to me that the policy goal was being set in stone, and now the … [Read more...]

The Phony War Against CO2

by E. Calvin Beisner

The Wall Street Journal recently published an article by physicist Rodney W. Nichols and geologist and Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt that makes perfect sense. Here’s its start: polls show that climate change is low on the list of voters’ priorities. For good reason: In the U.S., and for much of the world, the most dangerous environmental pollutants have been cleaned up. U.S. emissions of particulates, metals and varied gases—all of these: ozone, lead, carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen … [Read more...]

Was July the “Hottest Month on Record”? Who Cares?

by E. Calvin Beisner

Mainstream media the world over breathlessly report that scientists say July 2016 was the “hottest” month in the global temperature record stretching back to 1880 (or as CNN wrongly reported, “ever”)! And future Julys will only become hotter! Repent, the end is near! Or maybe not. Consider: First, for most of the world, whether land or sea, raw data were nonexistent for most of the period before, roughly speaking, the 1960s, making precise claims about global temperature before then … [Read more...]

Why You Should Mourn Implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement

by E. Calvin Beisner

The climate agreement reached in Paris last December will become effective on Earth Day, (Friday, April 22) with a ceremony at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. We’ll all hear of heroic world leaders who joined together in Paris to ensure the planet’s survival. The Obama administration will try to enforce the agreement (which meets all the legal criteria of a treaty though the President chooses not to call it that to evade Senate disapproval) by imposing the Environmental … [Read more...]

Help Us We Pray

by Bruce Atchison

Heavenly Father, please help the people of planet Earth to realize that carbon dioxide is plant food, not a poisonous gas. May there be a massive outbreak of common sense so that the majority of ordinary people will object to the suicide pact which environmentalists want everybody to join in. Amen. This prayer was submitted for use by Bruce Atchinson in Cornwall Alliance's 2016 Day of Prayer for the Environment and the Poor. … [Read more...]

Stop calling me a ‘denier’: Debating science is honorable, not evil

by Megan (Toombs) Kinard

We’ve all read the articles, and heard the voice of doom about “mother earth.” The earth is going to get really hot, it’s all humans fault, and we must make drastic changes to fix our mistakes. Those who disagree with this viewpoint are termed “Climate Deniers,” an insult intended to bring about the specter of Holocaust denial. The fact that this particular insult makes no sense, since it’s impossible to “deny” climate doesn’t seem to matter. What do climate alarmists and climate skeptics … [Read more...]

An Open Letter on Climate Change to the People, their Local Representatives, the State Legislatures and Governors, the Congress, and the President of the United States of America

by Cornwall Alliance

Human-induced climate change, also known as anthropogenic global warming (AGW), is real. Crucial questions facing the public and policymakers are its magnitude, its benefits and harms relative to the benefits and harms of the activities that drive it, and the benefits and harms of proposed responses to it. As the American people and their political representatives formulate policy regarding AGW, they should consider the following: Human Exceptionalism and Humanity’s Role in the Earth Severe … [Read more...]

Fear Not, Climate Alarmism Unfounded

by Gordon Evans

In my position as environmental manager for one of the largest university systems in the U.S., I regularly make it a point to ask scientists and engineers working in the real world, solving real day-to-day problems and stewarding our natural resources and environment, about their professional views on the issues of climate and energy.  Their responses almost uniformly reflect disagreement with, practically a disdain for, the climate alarmists’ and sustainability activists’ premise that manmade … [Read more...]

Help Us Be Good and Faithful Stewards We Pray

by E. G. "Jay" Link

Our Father who art in Heaven, What an unspeakable honor and responsibility it is that You, dear, Lord, have entrusted us to steward a world that You so creatively and lovingly brought into existence. And regardless of whether we broadly or meticulously examine the genius of how the earth and mankind have been created we cannot help but be moved by the perfect, symbiotic relationship that enables both man and nature to live in harmony with one another. One of the simplest examples of our … [Read more...]
