Climate Alarmism is Just a Fairy Tale

by Vijay Jayaraj

Imagine a new narrative of the Snow White story for our time. The original story was set in the Black Forest. Near the mountains, the Black Forest was Germany’s holiday playground. Imagine a new version set in the hill stations of northern India (my country). The hill stations are near the mighty Himalayas, India’s holiday playground. The original Snow White was shaped be fears of wicked witches. The new one would be shaped by fears of wicked humanity. How are they wicked? By burning … [Read more...]

Why Christianity Is the World’s Most Eco-friendly Philosophy

by Vijay Jayaraj

Environmental problems have become part of our everyday lives. There isn’t a news website homepage that does not highlight news related to our environment, and environmental issues have become central themes of major elections. But we have reached a point where we no longer understand the role of man in the environment around us. What brought us here? Humans and the environment are inseparable. Whether you are a theist or an atheist, you cannot be disconnected from the environment. All of … [Read more...]

Alley Sheep at the El Station

by Mark Coppenger

Thinking back on the Cornwall Alliance’s 25 Days of Prayer for the Environment and the Poor, reminded me of some work I did in 2010. As a church planter in Evanston, Illinois, I led our folks to serve as “alley sheep” (as opposed to alley cats) in the lanes beside and behind the downtown restaurants. Dumpsters were overflowing with offenses to eye and nose, and we ventured to clean things up as both a service to the community and a witness to the gospel. Sporting our theme T-shirts, we raked … [Read more...]

by Oliver K. Burrows III

Heavenly Father, We thank You that You, Your Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit have always been, are, and always will be the same.  We come into Your presence with thanksgiving in our hearts, for You are not only the Maker of heaven and earth but also Adonai, the owner, ruler, and master of all creation.  We praise You as Creator, for the earth is Yours and the fullness thereof, and for Your creative power that remains unchanged since time began. A Prayer for our World (For the UnChristian, the Unborn, and the Suffering)

by Jason Poarch

Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be your name. We come before you today, acknowledging that you are Trinity. In you, all fruitful community and communication exist in holiness. We beg that your will be done in this broken and, yet, redeemed world. Today, the nation of Islam in on our minds. Today, we need Muslims around the world to come to a saving knowledge of your Son’s work on the cross. Help Us Be Good and Faithful Stewards We Pray

by E. G. "Jay" Link

Our Father who art in Heaven, What an unspeakable honor and responsibility it is that You, dear, Lord, have entrusted us to steward a world that You so creatively and lovingly brought into existence. And regardless of whether we broadly or meticulously examine the genius of how the earth and mankind have been created we cannot help but be moved by the perfect, symbiotic relationship that enables both man and nature to live in harmony with one another. One of the simplest examples of our … [Read more...]

Give me a Sensitivity to the Poor in my City, Nation, and World

by Rusty Wright

Heavenly Father, we know that the poor of our world are close to your heart.  You told us, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” Please give me sensitivity to the poor in my city, nation and world, so I will have your heart for them, and your mind.  Give me wisdom regarding how to channel the resources that you entrust me to steward.  Teach me when and how to use time, abilities, funds, influence, so that you may be glorified. Poverty … [Read more...]

by Dr. Thomas White

Dear Lord, You are an amazing God—steadfast in your love, abundant in your mercy, and wise in your actions. You are a wonderful creator God who has provided a magnificent creation with abundant resources for us to enjoy. We recognize our sinfulness and thank you for your mercy and grace extended to us through Jesus on the cross. Your word tells us in James 1:5 that those who ask for wisdom in faith will receive it. Today, we pray for wisdom and for understanding in how to best steward the … [Read more...]
